Introduction
focus on young people with refugee backgrounds
In Amsterdam East, we focus on young people with refugee backgrounds who have recently received residence permits. We aim to foster a positive mindset, build confidence, and strengthen resilience to help them progress toward their life goals.
Sports play an important role in improving group dynamics and creating connection. A key goal is to encourage girls to inspire and support one another along their journey.
we offer the girls life-changing opportunities
Through our extensive network of high-profile athletes and professionals from various fields, we offer the girls life-changing opportunities beyond the boundaries of their own neighbourhood. Finally, we support them in addressing personal challenges and developing their own stories.
collective healing and recognition
We conclude the programme with a public storytelling event for friends, family, and everyone involved – a powerful moment of collective healing and recognition. As a final celebration, we also host the national Time To Shine street football tournament: an inspiring stage where girls come together to celebrate talent, express their authenticity, and shine through football.
For who: Girls aged approximately 14–18 years
Season 4: Spring – Autumn 2025
